I took some photographs today just to prove that I have actually been doing some gardening over the past few months!
Our resident duck
The apple tree ~ its first year.
I don't really like those perennial cornflowers. They were already there and I intended removing them until I saw a pair of goldfinches return to them time and time again for the seeds.
Bob peering through the front gate, one of his favourite past-times
Benji participating in his second favourite past-time, sleeping. His first is eating. Hubby's in the photo too. Can you see him?
Always blessed with fairies!
There are strawberries in there somewhere!
Bob being handsome
Bob being extra-handsome!
Come on in
Look, hubby's managed to get himself in the picture again!
It took a long time for me to settle in this house, but I'm glad to say that it now feels like home and we're happier here than ever.
p.s. I didn't take any photographs out the back because the grass needs cut! :O)
p.p.s. Couldn't resist a small update. Saturday, 23rd July ~ eating well and gaining strength

Your front garden looks beautiful Lesley dear, you have been very busy ... a mass of lovely flowers and shrubs, a resident duck and Bob and Benji. I caught a glimpse of your hubby's arm and foot. I see you have some beautiful yellow nasturtiums, I have planted two packets of seeds and have not seen one yellow flower yet, it is so disappointing.

Thanks Dianne. :) There are so many different varieties of nasturtiums and all so pretty. Try the variety 'Moonlight'. They're a pale yellow and with a whole packet of seeds, you should get lots of yellow nasturtiums. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice about the nasturtiums, I shall see if they have that variety here.
ReplyDeleteYour baby sparrow seems snug and warm in the nest you have made, how cute that little face looks, I do hope he/she keeps on thriving, that would make me very happy too! :)

Dianne, I've just finished feeding him. He gets fed every half-hour or so. I expect I'll have to think about weaning him soon. :O)
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, lovely Lesley! That duck is smiling!!
ReplyDeleteAll that colour! Nice to see Bob and Benji enjoying their new surroundings to. I see a Nike!
I was actually thinking about growing a small lemon tree from a large pot! It can be done!!
Lol gf :O) The dogs love all the grass - we didn't have much grass in our old garden. A lemon tree would be lovely! I visited your blog last night but when I saw the length of the post I decided I'd have to wait till my new inkjets arrive next week so I can print it out! :O)
